Play All AND Scene selection issue

I am attempting to create a DVD that has both a "Play All" and a "Scene Selection" menu choice.

With Play all, I want the entire video to play, however, with the Scene Selection, I only want the particular scene to play, then return to the Scene Selection Menu.

I have the two choices set up on the Main Menu page. Play All works fine. Clicking on Scene Selection takes me to the 5 scenes I have set up. Clicking on any one of the scenes plays the selected scene, but it continues on to the next scene, which I don't want.

I've tried setting the end actions for each of the links in the scene selections, but that doesn't work.

Is what I am trying to do even possible?

I am using Version 4.5d

Yes, it's possible -- but not the way you currently have it set up.

Instead of one long video, create each of your scenes as a separate video.

Load each of these short videos so that a button for each is on your Scene Menu page.

For play all, create a Playlist with a button linking to it on your menu page. A Playlist will play any or all of your scenes seamlessly, one after another, in whatever order you designate.

Steve,

funny you should say that, I was just re-rendering the video so that I had one video (the full video) and the individual chapters.

I thought I was going to clever and create a work around using all those files.

I will try it with just the individual files and work from that.

Is that how a commercial DVD is put together? I would thing that was backward...

An alternative method is to use the full video file but import several instances of it. Each can be set to have its own in and out points, so that you can play part or all of the video when it is selected. DVDA will recognise that all the clips have the same source and will not use extra disc space to store them.

Here is another question along the same line.

Is there a way to have a 4:3 and 16:9 version of a movie appear on one DVD? Or do I need DVDA 5 to do that?

You can have two versions on one disc, but they will double the space required on the disc. You can only have one aspect ratio of menu though.
