Play All Button/Individual Songs

I currently own Adobe Premiere and Adobe Encore.

After working with the software for only 5 hours I now realize it won't meet my needs and I am curious as to whether Sony Vegas 5.0 will - let me explain.

I have a ton of VHS tapes that are continuous concert performances - let's use Austin City Limits as an example.

In Adobe world, I can capture the program and edit and put together a DVD such that I can play individual songs or indeed play all the songs as one performance but with one major caveat. I have to edit the complete performance in to smaller time lines equivalent to each song. The problem becomes that when I want to play all the songs there is a small hesitation at the end of one song and the beginning of the next.

My question is - will Sony Vegas allow me avoid this kind of editing - i.e, can I insert markers in a continuous video file that will allow me to assemple a complete performance but still play individual segments of that complete performance?

If I can then I wil purchase the Vegas software.

Thank you,

Phil

You can do this with DVD Architect 2.0 by including the entire video in the project multiple times - the first time is for the "Play All" and then each subsequent time is to do the individual play by setting in/out points. DVDA 2.0 will only include the movie a single time.

In order to get DVDA 2.0 you must purchase Vegas+DVD. I would imagine that there are other authoring programs that will allow you to do this, and frankly I'd be surprised if Encore didn't have this ability in some fashion.

Scott,

Thanks for the reply.

If you go the forum for Adobe Encore/Premiere the number one request for software enhancements is the ability to construct a 'seamless play all' which this software does not currently have.

I should have checked the forum before purchasing.
