Play button on remote control

OK, I have a menu-based project. The first-play item works fine, then up comes the menu. there are two buttons: "Play" which plays the entire title and "Scenes" which goes to a scene selection menu. Every thing works just fine except:

At the main menu, I would expect the Play button on the remote to play the main title, i.e. do the same thing as navigating to the Play button icon and pressing Enter. The Play button (remote) is "on" in the menu property list but pressing it at the main menu only shows the "not allowed" icon (circle with a bar).

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance,
-Don

You're not doing anything wrong. Any and all buttons on a player / remote do whatever the manufacturer programmed them to do. On some, the Play button will play the main title if you're on the main menu. On some, it won't. I have yet, however, to see a player / remote where hitting the Play button will navigate to another button and select it. If anything, it usually just activates the button that' was already highlighted when I pressed Play. (Meaning, it's equivilent to pressing Enter. If I were on the button for Scene Selection, that's exactly what I'd get.)

Does the Play button behave as you'd like when you watch other (ie, commercial) DVDs?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, on commercial DVDs, hitting the remote Play button plays the selected title, just like hitting enter. But hitting the remote Play button on DVDs I make just causes the player to show the "not allowed" icon. Hitting Enter plays the selected title just as you'd expect.
