Play event backwards/mirror

Unfortunately I have only 1 videoevent (20 seconds) taken from a train which I would like to use for the forward- and also (in part) for the return travel.
Is it possible to either mirror the whole event or to play it backwards for the return travel?
Actually I think that mirroring it will give the better impression of a return travel than playing it backwards?

You can use pan and crop to mirror the video (I can't get the mirror effect to do what you want) but MS can't play the video in reverse. VideoMach is a freeware app that will reverse it for you.

Edit - it's no longer freeware! You might be able to find the original version somewhere on the web though. It's also got AC-3 support, which could be useful to some people.

You can use the Pan/Crop feature to create a mirror image of the video.

Just open the PanCrop window for your clip. Right click over the video image and select "Flip Horizontal". That's it. I use this frequently when filming semi-translucent flags blowing full out in the wind. If I happen to be on the reverse side of the flag, I simple flip the video in pan/crop so that you can read the flag's print. You'd never know I was too dumb to position myself correctly before filming.

Thanks - I would never have found this myself - it is very well hidden :-) (maybe an intuitive place would be in the left bar of pan/crop?) and trying to seek for it I only thought of "mirror" and never of "flip" but it is really a usefull thing. Actually in the mean time I made the wanted effect using the Movie Maker 2 that is a part of Windows XP - is has also other usefull features like Watercolour (makes a photo into a watercolour painting) and Smudge Stick (similiar effect).
