Playback freeze after adding any fx to event and/or track

bruce-q wrote on 11/5/2018, 10:48 AM

Every time I add any video fx to either an event, or a track (it need only be one), video playback freezes when I attempt to play the video on the timeline. The audio continues to play until I hit stop. Then everything freezes.

NOTE: When adding the fx to an event, the freeze only happens when that event is played.

It doesn't matter what my video source is - HDV, HD, even basic DV.

I am running Vegas Pro 16 (build 307) on the following computer:
Motherboard: MSI Z170A Tomahawk
Intel i7-6700K processor
16 GB RAM (DDR4)
250 GB SSD (programs)
WD10EZEX Blue 1TB 7200rpm HDD (media)

No graphics card.

OS: Windows 10.0.17134
PLEASE HELP!

Hi J-V,

Yes, the project properties are the same. In the GPU box I have Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 listed. Should I turn this off?

UPDATE: Just tested out your idea and it works!!

Thank you so much for your input - really appreciated.

Cheers,

Bruce

I addition you can look which drivers your Intel GPU 530 is using. Normally you should not have those difficulties with that GPU, but check what driver version is installed and compare with the latest of october this year.
If you have older ones install the newest and try again to switch that option on because with some OFX plugins you got better playback when there is GPU acceleration.
