Playback in Vegas 7e seems to be worse with DV

I upgraded to Vegas 7e and working on a project I noticed some major playback issues. I have not downgraded to test, but wondered if someone could give me some feedback on how to see what the problem might be.

First off, I play the same clip with Windows Media Player 11 and it seems to play perfect, but not in Vegas.

My video footage clips are from the Panasonic AG-DVX100A recorded in using Vegas through Firewire. My camera setting was F1 Scene (60i)

My Vegas Project was set to the default NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps)

My computer specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 5200+
2 GB RAM (Crucial)
Windows XP Pro SP2 (all of latest upgrades)
ATI RADEON X1300 Series - Drivers installed

Video Playing from a SATA 3 with plenty of HD space

When I preview through Firewire back to my camera then it looks okay, so why not in the preview window. What changed in 7d to 7e? Any help would be appreciated.

There seems to be issues with 7e for quite a few users - especially if they are editing HDV (The notorious 2 black frame bug seems to be the big one)

I myself am still editing standard def footage and did notice some oddities with 7e and have since regressed to 7d.

Virtual, I have intentionally not moved to 7e but am staying put with 7d. Your system has about 10x the horsepower needed to play DV without glitches. I'd suggest getting back to 7d.

I had a DV project that previewed beautifully in Vegas 5. I upgraded to V7 and preview seriously degraded. Now that I shoot HDV, have no choice but to use V7... poor me. :-(

Thank you for the responses, I was worried it was just me, but now I see it really is a bug. I will go back to 7d.

I don't have any playback issues with 7.0e. Overall playback is better than it was in V6 and it is same as it was in 7.0d.

Dv has taken a bit of a hit and i cant fathom why considering the multithreaded nature of 6-7

MANY times, (more often than like in fact) i might be previewing a cut and all seems well, full frame rate previews at almsot any size res, usually half most of the time, for teh first 30 odd seconds, its smooth as silk, then it starts to puke and drop frames. I then have to go back to teh preview window and chang it from preview to draft then back to preview to get my performance back.

Also, this happens when wathcing straight DV footage, with NOTHING done to it... i dunno what it is but i hope they fix it..
