Playback problem!!! Smart people help me!

I have a Soundblaster audigy soundcard that I just installed. When I switch to it in my audio preferences I cannot play anything back. I hit play and it plays a millisecond of my project and stops. It plays just a blip but no more. When I switch back to a Windows Wavedriver it will play fine, but I can't record because of latency. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have a couple of questions, but probably not the answer. I'm working on a similar problem.
What version of Vegas, which audigy card and what OS?
I've been working on a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 problem for a month or so, I just haven't had time to stay working on it.
I had SB Audigy live and didn't have any problems until I got to 8 or 9 tracks, then latency.
I upgraded to Audigy 2 and that card is worse than the Audigy live. 3 tracks and it craps out.
Anyway, a month or so ago when I ws asking around this forum for ideas, mostly everyone was saying that Creative makes good cards for gaming and surround sound.
However, that I should consider another brand for recording. M audio's Delta series was getting a lot of good press.
Hopefully in the next 3 or 4 days I'll have a success story for you.
The feelings I got from this forum was that Sound Blaster was n't ready for recording yet.
Your not alone

I'll give you that success story now; I have six people here who all purchased M-audio cards and I haven't heard a single complaint. I strongly recommend you look into buying an M-audio Delta series card.
