Playback problems in an Apple

After creating basic DVD's in both DVD_A and Sonic's MyDVD 4.0, I've had problems viewing the media on any Apple ibook or G4, G5. I receive numerous error messages along these lines:

The volume can not be read by Mac X os.

No data is found on the CD.

Before I had DVD_A, I've looked on Sonic's forums but there were no solutions. I was hoping DVD_A would solve this probelms. Has anyone found a solution to this?

I've had this problem with DVDs authored in DVDA and burnt onto DVD+R media.

Problem resolved by using DVD-R media.

I've got the same issue with a set top DVD player as well.

This isn't entirely a plus versus minus issue though.

Both the Mac and the set top player will play DVD+Rs recorded in a Philips recorder so there must be something slightly amiss with the way DVDA authors / records DVD+R media. I suspect it has something to do with the compatability bits.
