Playing .avi files on TV

I rendered a HDV capture to .avi in order to keep the project at 1440x1080x32. Now I want to show it on my TV. Can someone tell me how to do that? thanks

What equipment have you got connected to the TV? A DVD player? A Media Centre PC? Other -like a laptop with video-out?
