Playing back MPEG2 rendered movies

I'm very happy with Video Factory, and I was excited about being able to render MPEG2 files. I did this successfully - but I am not able to play the file back (windows media player) I've seen some discussion on this board that WMP might not be able to handle MPEG2 - so my quesiton is "HOW DO I PLAY IT?" I finally have this great file format - but I can't play it? I've done much better with MPEG1. Why is it that MPEG2 is supposed to be better? Can I burn it as VCD with VCD software? Or DVD software? (I think I have to have a DVD burner for that though, don't I?) I really would like to be able to use and share this MPEG2 file - could someone please tell me what to do with it?

To my knowledge the Windows Media Player will not play .mpeg 2 files. There should be software availble for free on the Internet that will decode an .mpeg 2 file so that you can watch it. One peice of software that comes to mind is the Xing mpeg player. You can of course open the file up in Video Factory and watch the file through the video preview window.
