Audio:
- render out the clip you want to reverse
- use Windows Sound Recorder to reverse it
or
- use Sound Forge or something to reverse it

Video:
- render out clip to be reversed
- import the clip to the timeline
- use velocity envelope at -100%

Thanks for your response!

I'm not too clear on the process for playing a (video) clip backwards. If I have a captured DV clip in my Media Pool, what steps are needed to have it play backwards?

Is there a rendering method that will reverse the video and then I bring it back into the timeline?

Thanks again,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

It can be quite simple:

Place the clip on the timeline
right click on the event and add a velocity envelope
drag the line (envelope) to the bottom

the clip should play in reverse.

If you need backwards audio, you might try rendering just the piece you need to a new track, open that file in windows sound recorder and reverse it. Pop it in where the original audio was.

Addendum: (moments later)

For nice clean-looking reverse (or other speeds), right click on the event and select Properties> "Resample"...
