Playlist plays titles in random order

rdolishny wrote on 11/4/2013, 9:44 PM
I've create a playlist of titles, and some of the titles have chapter markers.

It simulates fine (well, the skip buttons don't seem to work but they work fine in an actual DVD player) but when I burn to an actual DVD the order of titles is completely random.

Any idea why a Playlist would play titles randomly?

Is this problem only visible when you play the disc on your DVD player/TV or is it also visible when you view the disc on your computer using VLC Player (a must-have free download)?

What happens if you use VLC Player to play the VIDEO_TS folder in your prepared files?

Most of the time, these problems are with the disc media itself, and not with the files DVD Architect has created.

Hi Steve. I hope I'm not breaking any forum protocol by asking a question that's not related to the OP's. It's about VLC which you say is a 'must-have'. I've wanted to have this tool for a long time but have read on the forum many times that installing codec packs plays havoc with VMSP. Doesn't VLC comes with its own codecs? If I use VLC will it interfere with VMSP?

VLC is just an open source media player.

It doesn't add any codecs that I'm aware of. Although, as with any free software, you should watch the screens as the program installs and opt out of any options to install search bars or other unnecessary apps.

It's especially useful for playing DVDs on your computer, if for no other reason than it does a great job of deinterlacing the video. Much better than Quicktime or Windows Media Player.

You can find it here.
