Alright so I have downloaded a file from the Vasst site.
Its called fancy_titles2 and its a veg file. When i go to open it with my vegas 6 it sais the application does not support this file type.
Also Sony Preset manager doesnt open it either. This happens with all the files i download from vasst that are.veg
If someone could please help me to get this going or steer me in the right direction id grately appreciate it.
Thank you

Do you have the full version of Vegas or are you using the "Movie Studio" version?

You're having problems because that script was written for Vegas 4 when Vegas was still owned by Sonic Foundry. You need to open the veg file (use Notepad), change the line (it's close to the top of the file) that says Sonic Foundry\Vegas\4.0 to Sony\Vegas\6.0 and re-save it.

Hmmm. I don't believe .veg files had references to "Sonic Foundry" vs. "Sony" that matter in this case. You are probably referring to scripts, not project files. All versions of Vegas open earlier versions' project files without alteration.

You're right Kelly. That's what I get for replying before I've had my morning coffee :-)

You're right again Kelly. I checked previous posts for domi_54 and he/she is running Vegas 6 Platinum which means these vegs won't work.

What? The 650+ video FX that it comes with, not to mention the 550+ 2D and 3D video transitions, mini DVD & HDV support, DVD creation, Acid XMC, red-eye removal tools, color correction tools, etc. etc. etc. aren't enough for you?

BTW, there is a separate forum for users of your software.

Just a suggestion: It might be nice is Sony would rename the Movie Studio forum, Vegas Movie Studio forum so that people who buy VMS know where to post. There have been an increasing number of posts where people can’t figure why the information we are giving them isn’t working, only to find that they are posing in the wrong forum about there product. It doesn’t matter much to us, but from the direction of this thread, it just frustrates Sony VMS users and it’s not their fault.

Perhaps Vegas 7 can be called Vegas Pro 7 or something other than just Vegas alone because Vegas Platinum users think they are using Vegas, and then we tell them they are not using Vegas, we are using Vegas but we don’t know what else to call “our” Vegas. The real Vegas? the bigger Vegas? The more expensive Vegas?

Frankly I don’t care what you call it, but if one product is going to be called Vegas Movie Studio then the other has to be called “Vegas Something Else”. IMHO, you need something after the Vegas name to distinguish it.
