PLEASE HELP!! Sound Out of Synch!!

Hi all,
I captured HDV with connect HD 2.1, and many of my footage is out of synch!! The strange thing is that some tapes are sych and others not!

I tried everything (recapture, put capture clips in another disk,) but it continues out of synch.

It is not a question of playback resolution (I already played the files with windows media player and it is still out of synch)

In the timeline, the paudio peaks are clearly out of sych. The audio peak starts before the interviewee starts to open the mouth!!

Any help appriciated, I really don't know what to do next.
Thank you
Videojohn

I'm not familiar with ConnectHD. Try recapturing the video with either the Vegas capturer utility and/or HDVSplit, which I use exclusively.

Also, it would be helpful to provide more details--camera type, length of clips, and so forth. The folks on this board are no doubt eager to help out.

EDIT:

I just noticed that this is a duplicate posting. It would probably be a good idea to keep everything on a single thread.

Thanks for you response,

I imported HDV footage (720p) with connect HD 2.1 and then import the files into Vegas 8 Pro, but the sound is out of synch!

After many test and retest I discovered (thanks to the import tool in the Media pool window) that teh AUDIO AND VIDEO STREAMS HAVE DIFFERENT DURATIONS!!!!! That it why the sound is out of synch, but why this diffrence in durations? What is also strange is that the video and audio clips in the timeline are, at least visually of equal lenghth.

It seems to be something that happens during capture?

I tried to capture directly from Vegas window capture but I did not succeed to capture HDV!

different durations is fine & normal.

is there an easy point to sync them up to? If so, just shift the audio to match the video. Most likely it's a frame or two.
