I'm using this drive, it works fine with Windows 98, anyway.
When it asks fo the drive type, select "SCSI MMC Compatible" I seem to recall it then asking a few
questions such as the maximum burning speed, all of which were in the manufacturer's specs.
From then on, I've had no problems, it remembers the selection whenever I open CD Architect.

The only thing is that you are given a couple of burn speed choices the drive doesn't support, I'm told
if you choose an unsupported speed, it will burn at the next slower supported speed.

Someone posted similar instructions here for the IDE version of this drive earlier.

It would be nice if SF's Technical Support staff, who claim to still support this product, even while
failing to update it, at least maintained a list of MMC compliant or other burners which people have
had success with, even if they stated that they wouldn't guarantee it would work with every machine.

When I talked to Tech Support, they beat around the bush, apparently more afraid someone might
complain that the information was inaccurate, than willing to provide the best info they had, and
wouldn't give me a streight answer about this drive. Then I went to this forum and read the post about
the IDE version of the Plextor drive and how to make it work, so ordered the SCSI version, which I
wanted for my setup. (ordered from a vendor I knew I could return it to if I couldn't get it to work). It
worked fine.

I would think SF could have at least told me about the post in this forum, instead of refusing to provide
any info.
