As far as I know there is a "deshaker" plugin for Full Vegas.
The plugin can be seen in VMS 8, but it does not work there because VMS does not run scripts.
I have tried it under Full Vegas, but (to my very own opinion) it does (by far) not deliver the same result as the Deshaker plugin for VirtualDub.
Normally you also have to preview and render your video clips several times, and as deshaking is very CPU-consuming (needs to go through the videoclip twice) it is a good idea once and for all to deshake the videoclips before editing.
Probably you are familiar with VirtualDub - else just google it and also the Deshaker plugin.
Looks like a good program but at $199.00 on sale from the website is a little expensive??? I dont get it why Movie Studio dont include this basic feature with their app when all the other video editing apps do?
Is it worth 200 just for the Motion Tracking, Stabilization and Corner Pinning?
I like Vegas Movie Studio, and I think it is a very good program. As good as the program is, I don't understand why either. Why doesn't Vegas Movie Studio have a video stabilizer plug-in? Maybe, if we set back and wait it will be in the next upgrade. What do you think ForumAdmin?
I was curious about this also... but decided to purchase the consumer version of Pinnacle on sale just for the stabilization feature. It works well for $30 bucks.
As a result of using Pinnacle, I've found out that AVID is big brother to Pinnacle and is the main video editor for many movies and TV shows. WOW! When I do take the leap to pro series video editor it will be between AVID an Vegas. Being that AVID already has many of these features built in I'm leaning towards AVID. I just dont like the cheezy consumer feel to Pinnacle Movie Studio but do like the desktop of AVID.
For now I've resolved my Movie Studio Platinum issue with importing .avis and teamed with AVID's Pinnacle Studio for stabilization it more than fits the bill for now.

That's about the only thing Pinnacle Studio has over Vegas Movie Studio. Well, maybe screen grabs too.
My first NLE was Pinnacle Studio (v9) and upgraded to v10, but it was buggy and unstable so I switched to Vegas Movie Studio. The only thing I use Pinnacle Studio for is screen grabs and stabilizing video.
The way I look at it is, it's just another tool in my video toolbox.
