Plugin-chain windows

Is there any way I can enable the opening on multiple plugin-chain windows ? I have a dual-head monitor setup, and it would suit my way of working to have several open at one time on the secondary screen. It would also be great to be able to stick the mixer, media pool, etc window over there and give a bigger track view area.

VA2 so far, but moving to VV3 soon.

Just grab the Mixer and any other windows and drag em over to your second screen. As far as the Plugin Chainer windows...I believe you can only have one open at a time.

...and hit F11 to hide the docking area.

In VA2 I can't undock, drag, etc those windows anywhere. There isn't a 'magic spot' where you need to grab them from, is there ?

FWIW if it's different, plan to up to VV3 (in lieu of no VA3) this week. I can see a real benefit in the on-board CD writing from there, for quick-and-nasty evaluation CDs. Still would prefer to do 'proper' editing and DAO writing from Forge though, a better mastering environment. So I still need to keep SF4.5/CD-A . I guess there is no reason to keep SF5 installed....

F11 ? Yeah, that's handy but I'm lazy !

But seriously, I 'upgraded' to VV3 last night, and in the light of the new day STILL can't get the mixer (etc) Windows to drag, budge, whatever. Am I missing something really obvious ?

Geoff:
What do you think? Of course it's you! All kidding aside, I could move my mixer window out of the main window in Vegas 2 and now 3. The single line on the left side of the mixer (should be right below the little "x") is where you need to grab to move the mixer view. May be on the right side of your mixer seeing as you're on that side of the Equator. Is there a Kiwi language version of Vegas or are you forced to learn American?

Thank you for you concise reply TeeCee. Even though you can't spell 'colour' or 'litre' correctly. I suppose it's in the manual somewhere, but I couldn't find it. Must get one printed, I hate on-screen manuals.... thanks again !

how do you make a screen capture ?
Chienworks wrote on 5/28/2002, 7:14 PM
PipelineAudio, get whatever you want to show on the screen, press the PrintScreen key, open up your favorite photo editing software, and look for a "Paste as New Image" command (usually under Edit). Trim and save.

SnagIt (shareware) is really good. You do CTRL-ALT-P and it puts up a sizable frame to 'snag'. Save as bmp, jpg, gif, etc. Have used this extensively to send pictures to MOTu re a problem.

But how this got into this thread I'm not sure ....
