Plugin Question - Skin Complexion HD

fldave wrote on 2/17/2008, 10:50 AM
I haven't been able to find this using the (broken) search feature, but within the past few months I believe someone posted a message talking about a new plug-in for HD editors that helps smooth out facial complexion issues, It apparently does it extremely well without blurring/softening of the image and is reasonably priced. I can't find the name of it.

Does anyone remember that discussion that can guide me in the right direction?

Maybe NeatVideo is the plug-in you are looking for?

Here are some frame grabs. I used Neat Video on all of them except the picture of the baby. That one is untouched.

All of the frame grabs are from Super 8 film conversions that Ralph did for me, then I used Vegas to finish them.

If you have AE/PP/FCP/C*/DF/Boris Red, RE:Vision SmoothKit is only $119.95 and produces outstanding, high level professional results that can be easily adjusted to perfection for each scene.

Coursedesign,

Your suggestion seems to be the closest to my recollection, but I distinctly remember an $80 price and this plugin is extremely popular with the HD crowd and I thought it was Vegas compatible.

I'm beginning to think I may have read about it in a recent Creative Cow magazine, let me dig through those. I must be going crazy, as soon as I can find out if it is different than Coursedesign's suggestion, I will update everyone.

I have an upcoming 3 camera HDV shoot for an acoustic / "Unplugged" type concert, with no fancy light flashes, so I want to have some additional tools in my arsenal if needed.
