Plugins & Cinescore

I have both Sony Vegas Platinum Movie Studio 8 & 9. I started with version 9, but had to downgrade for my 64 bit Vista laptop (version 9 isn't supported for some reason). I noticed that MS 8 has some plugins that version 9 doesn't have from New Blue. Can I copy and transfer these plugins to my Studio 9? I thought I could, but wasn't sure. I really would like to use the New Blue Plugins in MS 9 because they are cool and to buy the package separately would cost $150.

I was also wondering if Cinescore would work with my 64 bit Vista laptop and if MS 8 would be able to access it. I would like to have Cinescore available for my movie projects on the laptop (I take it to camp with me during the summer and would like to do movie editing while on vacation).

Any insights anyone could give me into these issues would be appreciated.

I can't answer re: Cinescore. But to install the NewBlue plugins for V8, you must V8 installed first. Then install the plugins. You can install V9 after that and the plugins will work in V9 too. You can then delete V8 and the Newblue plugins will still work in V9.

Cinescore ( not sure about Studio ) is a stand-alone program, if needed that way. You can make tunes in Cinescore, render them out, and insert them in any video editing program.

Again, not sure about VMS, but in Vegas Pro 8, all you have to do is right-click on an audio track and Cinescore is there to make & insert music.

Cinescore comes as a separate install file on the Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Pro 9 DVD. So I guess I can try it on the laptop and if it doesn't work, uninstall. I was just wondering if anyone was working with Cinescore on a Vista 64 machine

If Vegas plugins are like Photoshop Plugins, then I thought if I copied them from the Vegas Plat 8 plugins directory I could just copy them into the Vegas 9--but wasn't sure if video plugins worked the same way.

Thanks for answering.
