Plural Eyes

Roger Bansemer wrote on 11/3/2024, 1:24 PM

No matter how many times I've tried, Using the Vegas "sync audio to align events" does not seem to work. In a former post I was told how to use my "Plural Eyes" to work in a prior version of vegas. Here's what was said:

You should find the file "PE4VegasLoader14.dll" and move it to the directory "C:\ProgramData\Vegas Pro\Application Extensions\" so that all Magix Vegas can load it.

The problem is my directory for Vegas22 does not have the "Application Extensions" directory to drop that dll file into.
Sure would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Roger

@Roger Bansemer How about creating a folder in that location, then name it "Application Extensions" and drop the "PE4VegasLoader14.dll" file in it and see if it picks it up.

If that doesn't work, try dropping that "PE4VegasLoader14.dll" extension file where your default extension folder is located.

Create a folder here C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\Application Extensions and add the loader dll to it. Don't save it only in VEGAS Pro 22's directory or VP 21, 23, etc. won't be able to find it. I have it working here on a machine with a fresh install of VEGAS and PluralEyes (new computer).

Roger Bansemer wrote on 11/4/2024, 7:52 AM

That worked to add the dll file and adding the directory. Thanks for the help.
Any word on why the Vegas sync function doesn't work?

RogerS wrote on 11/4/2024, 8:18 AM

For the audio sync, what version of VEGAS are you using? 22.194?

mark-y wrote on 11/4/2024, 9:26 PM

AudioSyncR from Happy Otter Scripts is my go-to solution, and whips Pluraleyes hands down.

https://tools4vegas.com/audiosyncr/

However, many users don't like the steep learning curve asspcoated wotj properly selecting the buffer zone around the target area to be synced, or try to sync the whole file, which is flawed optimism..

Yes, I'm using 22.194.
Seems like Vegas is falling behind somewhat in comparison to what some of the other editing programs are doing now like Davinci. What do you think?

RogerS wrote on 11/5/2024, 7:00 AM

I think it's a feature in active development so user feedback with what's working and not will help speed up the process.

VEGAS did have features like auto transcriptions just after Premiere and before Resolve so not completely behind.

VEGASFlorian wrote on 11/6/2024, 5:03 AM

It's impossible to tell why it doesn't work. This would need more detailed investigation. Could be the file format or the audio signal itself.

No!. Vegas is not falling behind...... Davinci has its strong points, Premiere has its strong points and Vegas has its strong points.

I'm using VPro 22 build 194.

I used to love PluralEyes, but my impression is that it doesn't work in VPro releases after about 17(?)

I did just go through the steps outlined earlier in this thread... and yes, now PluralEyes even does show up in my Vegas Extensions. But when I try to launch it, what comes up is the Red Giant Application Manager. I go through another step or two, and get to a Red Giant "Sign In" window. It says my password is wrong, so I change my password with Red Giant (which is now "maxon").. Then I go back through the steps of launching the Plural Eyes extension in Vegas 22, and... again it says my password is wrong, although I entered the password I just changed-to.

The built-in Vegas Pro synchronizer doesn't work at all... runs for a long time, then produces no synched result. I really miss PluralEyes, and would purchase it again if maxon resuscitated it to work with VPro22.

RogerS wrote on 11/23/2024, 4:47 PM

Contact Maxon support as they can give you a working installer for PluralEyes 4.. It works fine with VP22.

Steve_Rhoden wrote on 11/23/2024, 5:31 PM

@ernie-tamminga PluralEyes 4 (which is an older version) works perfectly well in Vegas Pro 21 & 22 and gets the job done. Good idea to follow RogerS suggestion.... As for the newer versions from Maxon, i cannot speak on that.

In another thread user mention that he was dropping it as at subscription of $80/month it was a bit much.

Yikes! That's HIGH! Also, I try to avoid "subscriptions" as much as possible.

I'll plug along with manual synchronization. I rarely use more than 4 tracks, so it's handle-able...

"But when I try to launch it, what comes up is the Red Giant Application Manager. "

Try removing/uninstalling any red giant items in programs and features. If necessary also remove Pluraleyes and install pluraleyes again. If necessary then follow the suggestions in the 1st. 3 posts in this thread.

All the above assumes you have Pluraleyes ver. 4 installer.

The installer I have is incorporated into the Red Giant "shooter suite" installer... I ran the installer and after some hoops (without PluralEyes being installed), I was taken to the Maxon website where it told me that for "Legacy Products" I have to submit a support request for the latest available installer. So I did submit such a request, along with my receipt from when I purchased PluralEyes. I'm hoping this all eventually adds up to "progress."

RogerS wrote on 11/23/2024, 7:56 PM

Their support helped me earlier this year get it working on a new computer.

johnny-s wrote on 11/23/2024, 8:21 PM

@ernie-tamminga

Way to go.

I had spent a lot of time previously going in circles with Red Giant/Maxon exactly as you have so that when I needed to again add it to my laptop a few days ago (lost Windows and nvme ssd, had to reinstall new Win 10, new key) that I did the following.

Instructions to self ...

In Vegas Pro Pluraleyes displays under "Tools/Extensions"

To add Pluraleyes as a button go to "Options/Customise tool bars", select Pluraleyes then click add.

To fresh install ...

1) Run "Shooter Suite 13.1.6 Setup.exe"
2) Enter "KEY" ...xxxxxetc
3) Don't check any of the check boxes for "Trial"
4) When it launches internet explorer at the end just close.
5) This leaves Pluraleyes at version 4.1.6.
6) Attempting to install a later version such as 4.12 or 4.1.11 is a nightmare.

Run VP. The 1st time I ran it Pluraleyes didn't show up.
Ran VP again and it was there.

Someday I may get around to doing as per your "submit such a request" It may lead to a later version than 4.1.6.

It took two messages for support to help me get 4.1.12 working with the installer they provided.

I forgot to mention that I was avoiding getting involved with support in case the update they supplied would mean I was in a subscription.

I'll have a look at that again so and contact Maxon support.
