Been using the beta for over a month now and it works great in Vegas 9 64bit, syncs my multicam audio files perfectly and fast, they are due to release the non beta version very soon according to a Email I received from them.....I think the price will be around $149.00..well worth it if you ask me....
They are selling it on their website now...not sure if it will deliver immediately or not. I've been running the beta in Vegas 8.0 32 bit for the past month and it is awesome...I've been dropping clips on the time-line that have broken audio feeds, interrupted takes, and long continuous takes, and it syncs the stuff up to primary audio feeds like no one's business. The $149 is what it's going for on their site...hoping to get offered a discount for contributing to the beta testing. Sony needs to drop it's multi-camera feature and partner up or buy this plug for future versions. My partner who is operating 64 bit is having good success with it as well.
1] The UK VAT is MORE than the old VAT which WAS 17.5% - and anyway, it is presently only 15%??!
2] I'm NOT seeing the discount in the ordering "CART"? It's mainlined in the first page, but I don't see it coming into effect FROM clicking on the next page?
I just received their email announcement of the official release with the 20% off today...the link to their site showed the discount throughout the ordering process for me. I am happy to have the full version...this has made life much easier for the multi camera shooting i am doing. I hope that future versions will go the distance and include the last steps of putting the sync'd clips into a split screen, but for now, this is so much easier than manually doing the sync!
No idea what I am doing wrong, but I've tried PluralEyes on 2 separate wedding projects and it didn't work at all. I tried using the "try harder" button on the options but that doesn't help either. I would spend the money if I could get this to work but not yet. Any ideas?
Best thing to do is send them your vegas project and pluraleyes log files. They really do pay attention!
One thing I noticed right away is don't mess with the default grouping; i.e., preserve the 1 video -to- 1 audio event groups until the sync analysis is done.
The new version is working much better with a "train wreck" of a project I sent them some time back. Something like forty clips on the timeline.
I downloaded the trial yesterday with hope that it could fix a long project that somehow lost sync in places. It has perhaps only a dozen original .HDV files (plus countless stills), but it's cut up into hundreds of pieces - 2- or 3-camera shots throughout.
Unfortunately, I had no luck at all with Plural Eyes. I downloaded and installed both the 32-bit & 64-bit versions, then opened Vegas 9c-64. After loading the problem .VEG, I tried to open PuralEyes but got only an error message.
Next I opened the same project in 8b. This time PluralEyes opened, but after perhaps 20 min. of work, it crashed Vegas - with a progress window open, identified as "Analyzing" that showed only about 3% done.
Finally, I tried the same project in 9c-32, with the same exact result as observed in 8b.
As soon as I can free the time, I'll send the problems to them for feedback, and then post the outcome on this forum.
If this plugin could work for me, I'd probably buy . . . here's hoping
With so many clips, try it in sections by selecting some ones you want to sync and progressing chronologically. You can now lock an event to provide a reference for clips further downstream. Working on my technique now.
That would be a bummer. I'm currently running 32 bit XP but have impending plans to move up to 64 bit Win 7. From all the info on this forum, I may need to keep both in operation. Having to pay twice for PE to be able to use it in both OSs is certainly an unpalatable option.
The devs may not understand that many people are running both versions. Why don't you email them and explain the reasons for running 32 and 64 on the same machine?
Ordered mine just a few minutes ago...glad its finally available and at a reduced price ....The beta has performed flawless in Windows 7 64bit in Vegas 9c as well as 9b......
I hope this isn't the case. Vegas x64 still is too quirky to be trusted. But it's nice to use the 64 bit version, when you need the extra RAM. The beta of Plural Eyes was quite impressive, but $119 seems a tad high, given its limited scope. Some here may have a constant need for this type of software, but I don't, at least at the moment.
I've been using the Beta with some relatively simple projects -- typically, 2 cameras each with a Video+stereoAudio timeline. And a few projects with that, plus an external Zoom H4N stereo or two-stereos.
Results have been hit-and-miss.
AMAZING, when it does work successfully.
Frustrating when it doesn't -- my most usual problem was that it would place one timeline AFTER the end of the other, instead of synching them.
Still, for their introductory price of $119, I plan to go ahead and purchase it and hope they'll get the problems worked-out of an almost-amazing product.

Well, my first thought is to ask if every camera could hear the same audio? That's what PluralEyes uses to sync. I suggested PE to my local cable access TV station .. they downloaded the trial (for Final Cut) and tried it on a multi-cam shoot of a local High School football game ... it worked like a champ .. they will be purchasing multiple copies so every edit station will have it. This using just the crowd noise and the PA announcer to sync.
"You do not need to buy separate licenses for the 32-bit and 64-bit versions that are installed on the same computer. You could buy and use the 32-bit version now and then when you are ready for the 64-bit version, you just need to install it and the existing license will apply.
Note that this is a better deal than what you get from Sony, who makes you pay separately for both versions of Vegas!"
I've put him right on his misunderstanding of Sony's practice.

Yes, but ... each "copy" of PluralEyes can be installed on two computers. I suggested PE for my local cable access TV station and they loved it. The wanted to buy it for each of the editing stations. However a licence for 6 units would be more than buying 3 copies of the software! That doesn't seem right.
