PNG image causes rendering artifacts

My videos begin with a title slide, which I like to create in After Effects and save as a PNG image, which is then imported into Vegas.
I like to use the Vegas-to-Youtube workflow suggested by musicvid, which begins by rendering using the Avid DNxHD codec.
The problem is that this causes artifacts. The PNG portion of the rendered video has horizontal lines on some of the frames. If I try to maximize the quality settings for the DNxHD codec is is improved but not resolved.
Any suggestions?

Are you starting in an interlaced or progressive project?
Is the PNG image stationary or moving?
Is the PNG at least the same resolution as the output?
Do you have Decomb set to Default in Handbrake?
Can you upload an example of what you are seeing?
I haven't experienced this problem so it may be somewhere in the settings.

Have you checked your Output Settings in AE?

inside Format Options, Compression should be None (rather than Interlaced).

Thanks for the quick response. Here is the video:

Some notes:
- it is not an interlaced PNG, and it is not moving
- the PNG is 1280x720, which matches the output
- the problem can be solved by not rendering the audio track
- it only occurs when using Vegas' Default (Uncompressed) Template option
- Handbrake is not involved. This problem is with the initial Vegas Render As output

There are some lossless RGB AVI codecs you can try. I tested seven of them here:

I hate those 2 second videos. Once you get involved in the plot, the video ends [heh, heh]
