Poor external monitor

I'm finding it very difficult to get a decent image on my external monitor during editing. The picture is very pixelated, sometimes jerky, and the titles are extremely blurry. This makes it very difficult to perform color correction etc. Any ideas on how to correct this? I am running it via the OHCI compliant card and a Canon GL1. Also I am in the UK so it's PAL.
Cheers?

sounds as though you need to change the quality setting for the preview

it is on the top of the vegas preview window.

Increasing the quality of the preview will slow the frame rate down on recompressed frames.

Make sure you're preview setting is set to "Full" resolution, not "Auto." Otherwise Vegas will set the resolution to match the size of the preview window on the computer monitor.

PAW your'e a genius, problem solved. Sometimes the simple things stare you in the face and you can't see them.
