Poor quality when transferred to VHS

I used my scanner to get my photo's into my PC so I could create a movie in VF.
I exported it to my JVC GRDVL820U camcorder and played it on my TV and it looked great, but, when I transfer it from my DV camera to VHS all of the pictures look funny when played back from VHS. The look is like the heat rising from a hot asphalt road looks, if that description makes sense, they look kinda wavy.
Anyone got any ideas?

I think I know what you mean. I get the same thing. I recently edited a wedding which included several stills of a deceased relative they wanted included. On the preview window it looked fine. When rendered and played on the computer it was fine. When I put it DV tape it looked fine in the camcorder's preview window. But when put to VHS two of the stills became 'wavy'. The images were unstable much like a scrambled Pay Per View station.

I've spent some time looking into it and I'm not sure what causes it. I have discovered that its something about the image that causes this, and there seems to be nothing you can do except use a different image to correct it.

I've noticed that stills that cause this do seem to have an odd and very subtle 'twinkle' on the preview window, but thats it. Even images captured on the VF timeline can cause this disruption. All I can suggest is beware using images with VF, perhaps even render and preview all your images before you set to work editing them.

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad to at least know that it's not a mistake I'm making.
When I capture the stills using my digital camcorder (Taking a picture of a picture)the problem isn't nearly as severe, it's only noticeably irritating when I capture the stills with my scanner

Thanks again, my quest goes on-If I find out anything I'll be sure to share the info.
