Popping Sound in Audio

Finished my first DVD with MS. Must agree with most about the MyDVD program as to being very limited. Anyway, used DVD Lab to finish the project. When I imported the file, DVD Lab said the audio was 44k vs the 48K for DVD. It was rendered correctly, but the finished product has a popping sound in the left speaker for only my voice when recorded while taping. This occurs on the computer speakers as well as the stereo system on the TV when played with the DVD player. All the other sounds seem to be fine; i.e., added music and ambient sounds on the tape. Any ideas? I'm thinking there must be a way to reduce the volume of the speaker holding the camera as it must be louder than other sounds. Maybe in the edit process?

Think I discovered the problem. Apparently, my camcorder had a selectable audio feature that I had on 12 bit vs 16bit. Guess the modification caused a little too much boost somewhere. What's funny is that I had burned a DVD with the original settings prior to using DVDLAB and the sound is perfect. Also, the disc plays in my tabletop DVD player. Will try it on other DVDs to see if it works on others or it's just a fluke.
