popping sounds

we have windows ME, and we get popping sounds on our recordings when they playback. We checked all the cords, tried new microphones, checked speakers, etc. The recordings are fine, but we get small, quiet pops throughout. How can this be fixed?

what is your hardware set up? Processor, motherboard (chipset), disk drive (type, speed, size), soundcard etc.

I too am having popping sounds on all of my cd rips. Never heard it before starting to us VV3 Beta. Toshiba 850 P3 Nvidia card, 256 RAM is one of the computers but it does it on both.

I have an intermittant popping when recording audio through my Gadget Labs Wave 8*24 into Vegas Beta 3...
