Accent on the word BETA. Plus we need more specs than what you've provided. Your sound card make would be a start. I am using a Delta 66 via ASIO and even the beta of V4 is excellent....haven't had any issues so far,
I have a 64 meg Nvidia Vid card, Geforce 2 MMX or something
and a motherboard soundcard..
mind you, vegas 3, works flawlessly on my system.
I am using the classic wave driver.

So pops and clicks are suddenly bugs in the system? I read your other posts where you mentioned you had a no-name soundcard and no ASIO....you might think about getting a real sound card that lets you navigate BETA without have to post a frickin' whiny response every two minutes.
It has been clearly stated that this app is BETA and as such has no support. Peter is being very patient with you so far. But this is not the way to report back here. For the most part, don;t waste your time asking "why this?" and "why that" at this time...the product is still undergoing a heavy workover as they move to the official release. If you have problems after that...then complain.
If you have found a legitimate bug, then report it as such. I am sure Sonic Foundry will appreciate it. If you are suddenly having troubles with your soundcard when using a major revision of an application that most of us are not having....don't be so quick to blame V4...maybe it's your gear that is selling you short.
Sorry for the tone, but it just pisses me off when the forum gets clogged with complains over a product that is obviously not finished yet. I sometimes wonder if these advance betas are good or bad.
Vegas 3 works fine on my CRAPPY soundcard, withOUT ASIO. Vegas 4, without ASIO features on, DOES NOT, yet. tho I am totaly sure that the people in charge will make this the ultimate app for multitrack. get off my back. If it was my GEAR, None of my programs would work.
as far as my 3 responses, they are SEPERATE ISSUES to be dealt with SEPERATLY.
that is why I posted 3 different posts..
I am not trying to point fingers, or whatever.
I make some bloody good recordings on the soundcard and system I have, and I am not rich. soon enough I will get a better soundcard.
other people are complaining of clicks and pops as well..
what is this a nazi state where I cant give constructive criticism???
plz keep your ignorant comments out of an honest disscusion about a beta.
lets think of the reason to HAVE a public BETA.
so that people can test it and report bugs.
I was just informed that any bugs I find should be reported to a different source.
I will do so. But I think it also a good idea to interact with other users and come up with solutions to problems.
I am sorry if I sound whiny. I am just trying to help.
keep going jacose, keep finding those bugs. Thank you for your help. Ignore the insults...not that anyone has ever gone totally off topic and insulted me for trying to ask questions or report a problem :)
The ignorant always seem to bond together in these forums.

Jacose,
And I am sorry if I am coming across as an ***hole. But system overhead seems to increase with all SF apps as we move from version to version. We went throught the same thing moving from Acid 2->3. I had pops and clicks and found out later that I needed to increase a few buffers in Acid. Problem solved. But it was not a bug. A bug is a documented, repeatable, generally universal malady that effects a wide group (usually all) and impedes use of some area of the program (or crashes it right out).
I am all for public betas. I am all for sniffing out the bugs before my credit card comes out. But please remember that this app may not work as advertised at this stage of the game on every sound card in the world. And that does not necessarily make it a bug. All I know is I do not get any pops or clicks and I am using the same beta as you. So I begin to think your issue is system specific.
I think I need to add a couple words here in Jacose's defence.
He/she has been a regular participant in the Acid forums for awhile. His posts are usually helpful and rarely offensive.
I think we tend to forget that sometimes our written thoughts don't come out like we intended.
