hello, i need some help, i just upgraded from win98 to windows 2000 pro - all of a sudden during playback i have pops and clicks, they are not recorded because if i listen to the whole track, then go back to review it again, they are gone(majority of the time) ive made sure my sound card is not sharing an irq, ive reinstalled vegas, and ive messed around with a few of the settings in properties. heres is my system
amd athlon 1000 - 512 megs ram - 60 gig hd, creative labs sound blaster live - thanks for your help....

I had the same problem, and I have a similar setup - including the SoundBlaster Live. After pulling out what's left of my hair, I figured out that if I kept the input gain low, the pops disappeared. Generally, when I input tracks to Vegas, I keep my input gain at -18 or lower. I don't record directly to the DAW, but I transfer all my tracks via SPDIF. Try it and let me know if it solves your problem.

I have the same problem too. But I noticed a way that works for me is when I put in my O.G start up disk that the computer came with and select audio restart and reboot only. Once it is restarted a majority of your pops will be gone...usually. And if you still do...Grab a new soundcard. Get one better than soundblaster live. You might pay a grip. Good luck!
