Possible bug w explorer tab

cheroxy wrote on 10/25/2003, 8:29 AM
I tried to do a search on this a few times, but the search page doesn't seem to be working. So, sorry if this has been asked already...

In Vegas when I click on the explorer tab the my videos folder won't show up. It is there because I can see it when I use windows explorer or anything else. I can even see it when I click import media and use that to look in the my documents folder. I have tried this on both my desktop and laptop that have vegas installed on them.

Does anybody else have this problem?
Thanks,
Carson Calderwood

Hiyah Carson - Weird, I get all my folders and all my directories in Vegas Explorer. It's like a Copy of MS Explorer - but for Vegas. My Movies, My Videos - like "My Picture" but the MS version for videos or movies . . I really can't why you aint? This is truly fascinating - c'mon Guys 'n Gals help out Carson here!! - I'm on my own . . well, with Carson too. ;-)

Is there a separate switch to make My Movies/Videos available or not . . . dunno . . .

. . you got "Tree View" applied? Can you see a Directory tree . . anywhere?

have you refreshed your explorer? If you did a capture session creating a new folder, and then only shut down Vidcap for instance, that folder would show in the Media pool but not on the Vegas Explorer.

My guess is that "my video" is a shortcut to a directory.
A shortcut to directories is not shwon in the tree view. It is shown in the list.
Shortcut to "system" folders - like "my documents" is shown.

Good point Udi - but the actual Folder containing videos, movies must exsist? Maybe its called . . Grapefruit? Well, sillier things have happened y'know!

You're right, it is a shortcut to my video. I moved the original folder to my second HD that has all my video stuff and left a shortcut in my docs.
thanks,
Carson

The Explorer view in Vegas doesn't update automatically. The solution? Select any file in the Vegas Explorer window and then press F5.
