Possible problem with my system/gearshift

I noticed a glitch with my first gearshift project...once i edited the proxy files and replaced them with the original m2t files, the cuts were off by a few frames. ( I had to do a final edit with the m2t files). One my second gearshift project, after I rendered the proxies, I but both (proxies and m2t) on the timeline and noticed there was a very small difference in the length of the proxie file. Granted, this was only a small amount of frames over a 1hour total clip...but never the less, it could be problematic for any straight cut edit. Anyone else seen this?

Mark, Please render the DV proxy manually in Vegas with the same media and see if you find the same results. GearShift is not doing the rendering. It is just automating Vegas to do the rendering. I cannot even begin to debug this until you perform this first step to determine if this is a Vegas rendering problem or a GearShift problem.

Also what method did you use to create the proxies? Filesystem, Media Pool, or Timeline?

Looks like any problems was induced by the operator and not the program :-)

We have all been there and sometimes only by discussing it with our peers does the light bulb go on in our heads. Even if it’s a private revelation. ;-) I’m glad you found it.
