possible to script "Strip Silence"?

Hi There -
as the subject says, is it possible to mimic the Strip Silence behavior of Pro Tools with a script in Vegas?

Meaning: a script that parses a track of, say, voice-over and, based on an input threshold, "strips out" the parts in between words into silence... so, you'd end up with a bunch of events, with faded edges, that were the "signal only" sections.

is this possible?

No. Scripts cannot "see" the silent areas. To the script, it's just an audio track.

Ok. Thanks.

Can scripts see audio plugins? If you had a noise gate on the audio track could the script monitor where the gate opened and closed, and split/delete the audio event as required?

I suspect no, but it doesn't hurt to ask :)
