posting videos on the web

Hi,
I've created some home videos of friends, and I would like to post them on the internet, preferrably as .wmv and .mov files and maybe even .mpeg2. I've spent alot of time searching online for a good host site that provides alot of space for videos but can't find any.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with this and suggest some sites for me. THanks!

Jeremyhockey,
Well, there are several options but most involve some money. Chienworks has a site that you can post movies on for free as long as they aren't bigger than 25MB. His site URL is: http://www.vegasusers.com/vidshare/. Sony has a site that you can upload files to but you have to become a member and you are limited to what you can put up space wise. A solution I've chosen is to buy space from Geocites to post my home videos for family and friends. The cheapest option is about $10 a month but I added space (100MB) so I pay about $19 a month. My url is: http://www.cr-home-videos.com/ if you want to check it out. You will have to build a web page to use this option however (which my son does to make a few bucks on the side if you are interested). You might check with your internet host to see if they offer any options. Yahoo does web hosting and even has an automated web page maker to help you get started. The one thing you will run out of quickly with video on a web site is space. If you encode using the Vegas template for WMV 9 at 256K bits, your shows will be smaller in size, stream well, and still retain good quality for web viewing (at smaller frame size than full screen). The higher in quality you go, the larger the file size and the slower your show will load and start playing on the receiver's viewer. Anyway, hope this helps. I'm sure there are other options out there so look for other replies.

I use http://globalspacesolutions.com

$14.95 /mo. The parts you will be most concerned with are storage and transfer. At global Space they are 600mb and 15 gig respectively.

You can go to http://mvweb.com/wvideo.shtml to see a 5 min video hosted by this company.

Try this:
$7.50/month for 1GB of space and 40GB bandwidth/month. Excellent customer service!

Check them first, A lot of videos and also photos posted on the internet are too dark to see. Check them from several computers and change them if they are too dark. There have been many videos I have wanted to view, but haven't bothered with for that reason.
