I converted a .ppt file to .avi, and used it in computer 1 in which all media is in a secondary internal drive, and it works perfectly. I installed VMSP 8.0d in computer 2 because it has better sound card, more ram, bigger and better processor, etc.... Opened the project in computer 2 and mpg4 video shows up beautifully, but the ppt.avi converted file is now Offline.
Both computers are Win XP Pro. Computer 1 has DDR2 ram and computer 2 has DDR3 ram. Computer 2 is optimized for Pro Tools use.
I saw one topic in which the MJPEG codec was suggested and it worked. I downloaded it and installed it, and rebooted computer 2 and nothing. I saw a suggestion in which the media should be placed on a mapped drive. Did that and nothing. I have seen no more topics regarding this particular problem. Again,
VMSP 8.0d
Win XP Pro
E6850 Intel Core2 Duo 3GHz CPU
3.25 GB DDR3 ram
M-Audio ProFire 2626 Audio Interface
GF 8600GT 540M 256MB DDR3 TV DVI PCI-E
This computer has been optimized for PRO Tools.
Please let me know if there is more info needed to solve this problem.
