I have been e-mailed a powerpoint slide show and am having trouble getting Vegas to accept it. I keep getting "not an acceptable format" any help much appreciated.

1. Open the PPT presentation.
2. Save the presentation as a series of slides. To do this, click File> "Save as", then choose File Type. You should see an option to save either the current slide, or the entire presentation as sequentially-numbered slides.
3. Not in front of a computer with PPT right now, but seem to remember that you can also choose image type (.png, .jpg, etc.). Vegas likes .png's best!
There have been dozens and dozens of posts about using PowerPoint in Vegas. Do a search, but restrict it to this forum and search the subject only. Use "PowerPoint" in one search, and then do another search using "PPT."
In the meantime, here are some threads I saved in my database a long time ago. They should get you started:
Camtasia used to be the usual recommendation, although I think in link #4 above, the person who started the thread found a dedicated program designed for this purpose. Some reported bugs, but I don't remember whether it turned out to be a good deal.
