pre-purchase questions...

i am considering purchasing Vegas to use as a multi-track recorder for my pc.
i already own Acid 4.0, and was simply wondering if Vegas was as loop friendly(?)
i work with 'acidized' files, so this would be a huge plus. i would also like to be
able to record and edit live audio in the same way i do in Acid, but with the ability to
use more tracks.

Vegas does not have Acid type looping ability. Hopefully in the future Vegas will be able to link with Acid via rewire. However, Vegas is a killer multitrack app! The editing power is phenomenal and its sooooo easy to use!

Au contraire, I use loops in Vegas all the time. They function differently then in Acid of course but work great there too. I usually export them from Acid at the tempo of my song then place and drag the edges in Vegas to repeat the loop. Works great.

In some ways, you have better control of loops in Vegas then in Acid.

Yes, you can loop in Vegas.

Decrink is correct. Vegas is loop friendly like ACID. The main difference between Acid and Vegas on the looping side is that ACID has a master Tempo/Key Signature that the loops follow, once you have Acidized your files by setting their original BPM, and Key signature. If you create a loop and render it in Acid, then import it in Vegas, the loop will remain at the Tempo/key signature you rendered it from Acid.

Hopefully this clarifies the difference,
Red

For clarification, I agree with decrink and Red and very often I will create loops in Vegas. My earlier (and perhaps too quick) response was more related to the tempo and pitch capabilities of Acid type looping not being available in Vegas. ;-)
