Pre-rendering a portion of my project...

I have some pictures with animated feathered masks that Vegas is very slow in previewing. How can I pre-generate these pictures as a single video track and overlay them onto the base video track? Right now, when I pre-render the pictures, the black areas in the new video outside of the masks (which I want to be transparent) completely block out the base video track. Is there an easy way with alpha to correct this?

Some options:

1.render in 32 bits uncompressed avi (with alpha channel transparency option -select /event property/media/alpha channel/premultiplied for the new event created). Be aware of the 1 Gig/minute resultant file size.

2. try a "lighten" ink on your overlay track for your black border videos. I may do the trick.

Thanks logiquem.

I tried option 1 and it gave me exactly what I was looking for.
