Preferred Audio Format for VMS10

I am about to convert some casette tapes to digital format so that I can use them in some movies that I will be editing in VMS 10. The video file that I will be using is in DV AVI format.

What would be the preferred file format to convert the audio casette tapes to? I will do the audio conversion in Sound Forge 10.

DV AVI uses 48kHz, 16-bit, Stereo PCM audio format.
That's how you should record from your cassette tapes, in WAV format, or W64 if they get too large..
