Preparing DVD - help needed

queencookie wrote on 9/12/2010, 4:29 AM
I have just taken on the job of recording a local amateur dramatic company's show. I've edited the video and I'm now trying to get the footage onto DVD but when I attempt to prepare the dvd prior to burning I get the message 'There is not enough space in the temporary files folder for preparing the dvd'.

I know I'm low on space on my pc but have two external hard drives, one with 170gb free space and one with 250gb free space.

Is this not sufficient space to prepare the dvd? The dvd will end up as 6.3 gb.

How can I get round this problem?

I've never worked on a project this big before so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Under Options>Preferences>Burning you may need to specify a folder on one of your external drives.

Hi thanks for the reply.

I had tried that with both external drives but I was still getting the same error message.

What drive is your temp directory on?

Ah its amazing how one simple question can sort out the problem!

I had changed the Default Prepare Folder under Burning preferences but i hadn't changed the Temporary Files Folder. I've also changed that to one of my external hard drives and away I go lol.

Thanks so much :)
