preparing projects for bluray

I have Vegas Studio 10HD Platinum and DVDA Pro 5.0b. My goal is to render my videos in a "bluray ready" format, so when I prepare my bluray project in DVDA, it doesn't need to re-render my files. What are the best formats to do this in??

I like .mp4, but for some reason, when I'm rendering MainConcept AVC files, it still needs to re-render. I've checked all the settings I can find, and they all seem to be compliant (1140x1080, 15mbps, 29.97fps, etc). Any ideas?

FYI, Sony AVC .mp4 files DO seem to work in DVDA whereas MainConcept AVC files don't. However, my Vegas program doesn't render Sony AVC .mp4 files correctly in the first place (the file becomes jumpy/choppy toward the end of it), so that's not an option for me.

Thanks for your help.

The wisest move is to let the program do i for you!

Select Make Movie from the Project menu and, from the first dialog screen, select the option to Burn to DVD/BluRay.

Keep following the prompts and the last screen will include the option to Send to DVD Architect.

This not only creates the perfect files for your disc, but it imports them directly into your disc authoring project!

DVDA will always need to render the menu. Are you sure it's rendering the video too?

It's a little strange. Certain files do not need to be rendered in DVDA... Sony AVC .mp4 for example. But MainConcept AVC .mp4 files do need to be rendered. I'm wondering what's different between these two files, and why this is happening...because I'd rather render my files through MainConcept.

thanks
