I've seen the discussions about the vanity release of Vegas 4e and the path problem it creates. I'm very concerned about this, because I've seen problems arise before. Back when Vegas 2c or 2d was released, an installer bug made the Help files inaccessible. Not a big deal, but I've alse seen plugins disappear and other problems since then.
Because SoFo dropped certain features with each release of Vegas, I need to have Vegas 2, Vegas 3, and Vegas 4 installed. I point everything to:
G:\Sonic Foundry\whatever...
instead of the default C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\whatever...
Now I'm trying to install Preset Manager, and it wants to go to
C:\Program Files\Sony\whatever...
My question is... should I point it to my usual place instead (G:\Sonic Foundry\whatever)? I would assume that it doesn't really matter if it says "Sony" or "Zaphod Beeblebrox"., but if I don't point it to my REAL shared plugins folder, the preset manager probably won't work. I wonder why it didn't default to it...
I just want to make sure because I'm sick of re-installing stuff and dealing with the registration process for 3 apps plus the MPEG plugins! :)

P.S. Thanks Sony, this is exactly how I wanted to spend my Saturday morning! :)
P.P.S. If this Preset Manager does what I think it will, my *sincere* gratitude will be yours. I've been hoping for something like this for years.
