Presonus FireStudio Tube and VP8 - No go over 48k?

I just picked up a Presonus FireStudio Tube and it works fine with Vegas Pro 8.1 at or below projects with a 48khz. Opening a project with a higher sampling rate will freeze the FireControl panel and upon trying to play Vegas will throw a "Device not available" error.

Even if I first set the Fire Control Panel to the correct sampling rate the Control panel will lock and Vegas will not play upon opening the project.

Anyone using the FireStudio Tube and Vegas Pro 8.1?

I am running XP 32bit and have been using a Firepod for about 4 years with no issues.

Do you have the ASIO drivers selected in Preferences->Audio Device?
You may have to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

If ASIO is not available in the drop-down menu, you will have to install the drivers from the installation disc that came with the audio interface.

Yes ASIO selected. Yes latest drivers.
No still didn't work.

Returned to the store and now happily getting work done on the old 'pod.

I wll try it again in a few months after some new drivers are released.
