Well, Vegas 4 did not have it, so can I ask if Vegas 5 has it before we consider buying it?

It's simple, I just want to know if it is now possible to go on record mode from playing just by pushing the record button with the mouse?

The only possible way for now is to set a region then a pre-roll and finally press play. It makes me spend a lot of time.

You mean for audio or video?
You could always do it for audio even in V4, but only on a new track. I'm assuming maybe what you're talking about is punch in?

If that's what you want, check out the Audio forum, was a BIG bone of contention some time ago, seem to recall it does work in V5.
