events to cursor. Just me or am I missing something? I would like to position my cursor on the timeline and press o to stop a video in its layer (or extend).
It does not expand events though. But I don't find it useful other way the Vegas internal trim function does it. I worked with "expand event to the cursor position" in NLEs like DNE2000 and SpeedEdit but the very disadvantage is you don't see the expanded content until this step is done. Thus it becomes a workflow of trial & error. So for to expand events I prefer the regular trim function.
I thought I would just jump in here and say how extremely helpful it can be to go into the options and personally assign each key to the command that you prefer. I had a bunch of old habits that were screwing me up until I customized the whole thing.
Now editing is a breeze because I assigned everything to the left side so I can click with the right hand and commando left.
But try to remember (if you *do* change the default hot-keys) to mention that you've changed them .. if you ask here why "such-and-such" key no longer works the way it did .. and we think the key in question is set to it's default settinig when it was changed to something else.
