prev-next jumps don't work

In DVDA2, what is the preview's 'remote' supposed to represent, compatibility-wise?
Here is my situation:
I have a full legnth fishing video thats around 3.2Gig.
I set up two options for the viewer:
view the entire story or view topics, which contains chained segments that are similar, like, baiting the hook.

I set this up by making a menu page with four on-screen subjects. I then made several media off screen media objects that are pushed beyond action safe. Each of these objects are linked to the same m2v, but with their own in/outs. Their 'End Actions' are set up to jump to then next segment of the subject matter. All of them have the option to jump to the ending of the video, by pressing the remote's menu button; which works perfectly.

What doesn't work perfectly is that the preview remote's 'next' button dutifully jumps to the next segment that is specified in the 'end action' of the currently viewed segment. However, when playing on a DVD player or through a program like Powerlink DVD, the next button does nothing; it doesn't jump. Yet, when the menu button is pressed, it jumps to the ending, as authored.

I have tried setting a chapter mark near the end of each of the out points, but that has not resolved the problem. On the menu page settings, as well as the media object's settings, I have all remote buttons on, as defaulted by DVDA2.

Am I missing something or is the 'remote' in the preview non-standard?

Thanks,

Gordie

I have this same problem and have not come up with a solution. The situation that I find this most limiting in is just like yours. When you come to the last chapter and want to go to the next title or activate the end action the chapter skip buttons are no use.

You cannot activate the end action using the chapter skip buttons on the finished DVD. It works fine in preview but falls apart when the disk is burned.

In some situations making sure that title search is activated seems to help, but not always.

I have tried like you to place a chapter marker a few seconds before the end of the clip as a work around but it seems to get thrown out by DVDA.

Another example of this is when you do an intro video. On a recent project I had two intro clips before the main menu. You could chapter skip through the first one but not the second. You had to fast forward or hit the menu button if you wanted to skip it.
