Preview issues since upgrading to 13

Hi all,

I have recently installed the upgraded Platinum 12 to Platinum 13. To be honest, I'm not really a fan of the interface, but hey, that's not my issue.

My PC spec is as follows;

Win 7 x64 (SP1)
AMD Phenom II x6 1055T
Kingston HyperX 1333 16GB RAM
AMD FirePro V4900

Which I believe should be pretty decent for Movie Studio

I shoot a lot of footage in 1080 60fps on a GoPro and match the project settings.

In 12, I can preview in full quality and the footage plays back in realtime.

In 13, it's totally unplayable to the point that I can't use it. Even if I set the Preview to Draft (Quarter) is still won't play smoothly.

I still have 12 installed as I'm midway through an edit of project so need to keep it, but anything new I want to use on 13.

But this terrible performance issue is making it unusable?

The settings are identical in both versions.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Maybe it was a big mistake to upgrade. For now, I'm sticking with 12 until I can resolve it. It really is a shame as I changed to Movie Studio originally because it supported GoPro footage perfectly.

Have you tried the proxy feature. Just select a file in the project window and use a proxy file, that should help until you figure out what you need to fix.

Thanks for the little tip.

Since having the issues I decided to upgrade my CPU to an i7.

I can now edit them again. I can't believe that one version would make such a huge difference though.
