Preview monitor problem

I recently upgraded to Vegas 7 and using the same JVC mini DV deck with firewire out to my external video monitor and I am having a problem.

The problem is that sometimes I will be able to view the picture on the external monitor and sometimes I can't. Even when it decides to show me the picture, it will sometimes stop and start.

I also am having problems with V7 locking up and it appears to be when I am have the external monitor button ON.

Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with v6 the answer was that I had an edirol FA101 firewire sound card attached as well. Problem went away when I disconnected the FA101 -- i use an UA101 now. If you have other firewire devices connected try disconnecting them.

the reason for finding this post was my own problems with an external monitor which I will post separately.
