bump?

"Bump" is the process of posting a new reply to a thread simply to bring that thread up to the top of the forum list again. It's kind of a "LOOK AT ME" sorta thing.

Not one I'd come across before. Bit of a high risk strategy - it's my experience that once a thread becomes rat holed it rarely gets back on topic.

Just a wild guess but I’d say either change the playback device or the output format. ;-) It would help if you gave us a little scenario with some background. Did you just capture an AVI file and drop it on the timeline and got that message? Did you download a DivX file and drop it on the timeline? I think I’ve seen this message when an AVI file contained an audio format that couldn’t be played. At any rate, a little more information (other than ‘bump’) might help us determine what’s going on.

Sorta OT & to underline what JR politely suggested: I've found I get better feedback if I provide more info. If I find I haven't got a reply I add more info - yeah?

Lotsa knowledgeable people out here, willing to give their time for free! And as such, their time been "offered" up, they too want to be more or less on the money prior to "jumping-in" - yeah?

Best regards,

Grazie

Sorry for bumping and thank you for your help!

Well actually i try to do a slideshow with pictures of mine and mp3 songs. After, outting the pictures on the timeline with some nice transition and a good song in mp3 format, I try to preview and got this message.

I also try without songs, only pictures, still doesn't work

The thing that troubled me is that before it worked well and I should cjange some codecs I don't know and now it doesn't work anymore.

I already installed back all the codecs and also uninstall Screenblast and install it back but it doesn't solved the problem !

Can you be a little more specific about "preview"? I've seen that message when i try to print to tape after rendering to an AVI file that isn't exactly DV compatible. For example, if i render to uncompressed AVI or use something like DivX. The only files that can be used with print to tape are AVI files rendered with the NTSC DV or PAL DV templates.

I can't imagine this being a problem with viewing your video within VideoFactory, which is what the word "preview" usually means.

That error makes sense for the MP3 file because many programs that claim MP3 support only implement CBR and not VBR or they only support 44Khz and not 48KHz so any non-standard CBR 44K MP3 file will not play. Hence the error about the “current output format”. It doesn’t make sense with just pictures.

Obviously something you installed regarding those codecs is causing the problem. When you uninstalled Screenblast, did you delete any directories it may have left behind including the common plugins directory? Did you also clean out any registry entries with regedit? I had a problem where VideoFactory wouldn’t accept AVI or WAV files and reinstalling it wouldn’t fix it. Only after I deleted all the directories and registry entries did the reinstall work.
