Preview screen on 2nd monitor

This may be a silly question, but is is possible on a 2 monitor setup (1 video card feeding two monitors) to move the preview screen (for either Vegas or DVD Architect) to the second monitor? The help files and manual seem to indicate that you need a distinct separate monitor fed by firewire for this to work.

that's how mine is currently setup.

go to OPTIONS - Previews Device - Secondary monitor.

all set! Then you hit the full screen preview button on the preview window & it will show full screen on your second monitor!

I just purchaed a Gateway LX6810-01, Core2 Quad with 8GB RAM and 640 GB hard drive and built-in Firewire. I'm having no trouble capturing from my Sony HDR-FX7 camera into the computer, but whenever I try to send the preview out though the IEEE-1394, Vegas 8c locks up.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks!

You can move any part of Vegas to the second monitor (except for the time line) by simply undocking the tool into its own window and dragging it over.

You can also save up to 10 presets for screen layouts. I have 4 saved and I have assigned a Cntrl + number to instantly change from one lay out to the next

If I press Cntrl 1 then I get full screen preview on the second monitor and everything else on the first. If I press Cntrl 2 then I get the audio console and audio filters on the second monitor and everything else on the other.... this one I use when I'm editing the audio. If I press Cntrl 3 then I get full screen time line on the main monitor and everything else on the second monitor. You can change from one layout to the next at anytime without affecting your project at all.

You can create and save up to 10 of these layouts and I will use one special and unique layout for each phase of editing.
