Preview stutter progress.

VMSP 8c has had s-s- stuttering in the comp. preview monitor ever since I started using it. Tried everything, set all defaults, and in checking further I recently came across this.

I go only PAL DV Widescreen which is not square pixels. I thought I'd checked all that but found in Capture 6 > Options > Preview there's another square pixel setting to be disabled. After doing that the first previews were still the same but after a few plays they seem to settling down. VMSP 7 never stuttered btw.

Make sure your PRoject Properties is using the right PAL template. Also, make sure you are on "preview (auto)" quality, not "best (auto)"

Thanks Eugenia, yes I'm onto that. In project properties when I select PAL DV Widescreen to capture, it auto selects 'lower field first' I'm assuming this disinterlaces the clip when capturing.

So I capture and after, that clips project properties says Progressive. How does that come about?

if your DV camera is a normal one, then it's not progressive. Simply pick the PAL DV widescreen template from the project settings and be done with it.
