Actually that was four questions. Here are four answers:

Yes. Yes. Yes. No.

Take a look at the Canopus ADVC-100.

Hi chienworks,

you are right, I deserved it. Sometimes i´m not able to count ´til four, especially if the sun is shining.
Anyway, thanks a lot for helping. And never use too much words if you can cut a long story short. :-)

Also, Sony DVMC-DA2 if you can find one, works well. Both the Sony and Canopus can capture analog (composite/s-video) to DV as well. For high-end work (component/SDI), check out the proMAX DA-MAX+.

Hi Dennis,

thanks a lot for your answer. I find the proMax very helpful.

Bird: Do you have the promax DAMAX? Do you have the latest firmware update for it?
Working well with Vegas y/n?

Question : (only one I think but I will be sure to use my fingers so I get the number right ... GRIN) Everyone seems to point to the Canopus ADVC-100 and you have pointed to the proMAX DA-MAX+ for "High end" work. I have the Hollywood DV-Bridge Hardware from Dazzle ... Is there an appreciable difference in these units ?? and if so what am I losing with the Dazzle ?? (ok ok it really IS two questions ... )

Hi EPM,

no, I don´t have it up to the moment. I think my answer was misleading.
I found the hint to the proMax very helpful, because I already thought of exchanging my DC1000 against a DC2000 only to get the components Ins.
As I have the DV option for the DC1000 I could use the proMax not only for VV3 with native DV but also for the DC1000 with mpeg2 and M2(pure DVD format).
If this works it would be a wonderful and elegant solution. I like those things.
Choose the weapons for the job.

Again a big congratulation to Sonic for the straightforward design.
Just this afternoon I showed VV3 on my dual athlon to a customer who has a Pinnacle Pro One at his home studio. Hehe, he was blinded by the light.
What I´m missing is 5.1, but perhaps later...
